MedCoast Scandinavia

MedCoast Scandinavia is a good example of how working together across regions and boarders within the life sciences sector can be an advantage. The organisation is aiming at making the Göteborg-Oslo region one of the leading biomedical regions in Europe.

MedCoast Scandinavia is working to facilitate partnerships between researchers, business, government and the health sector. There is a focus on increasing the number of new businesses and on innovation, as well as attracting investments from abroad. MedCoast Scandinavia is participating in a number of projects with in R&D, business and education, and will also be an important partner working with COINCO North.

MedCoast Scandinavia is run as a member organisation, with considerable political and regional support from Oslo city council, Akershus county council, Østfold county council, Region Västra Götaland and Business Region Göteborg. The partnerships with, among others, the biomedical networks GöteborgBIO and OsloBIO are very strong, which has helped securing success for the area's development within life sciences and has strengthened the region's position internationally.
