Focus: Develop modern, environmentally friendly and efficient infrastructure for transporting passengers and freight in the Oslo-Göteborg-Malmö/Øresund region, in order to strengthen integration and opportunities for growth. Create a base for investments that will make it possible to reduce the travel time on the existing Inter City network.
This work must be seen in connection with the development of a high-speed train concept for the corridor, so that the distance Oslo-Copenhagen can be served in 2 hours 20 minutes before 2025. High-speed trains combined with the Inter City network will be essential in achieving a full integration of the three job markets around Oslo, Göteborg and Malmö/Øresund.
The aim is to produce a thorough and complete knowledge base to be used by regional and national governments in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, as well as the EU, to make decisions regarding investments in the corridor's infrastructure.
