A Scandinavian mega region of 8 million people

The corridor covering Oslo, via Göteborg, to Öresund and Copenhagen has a total number of 8 million inhabitants. If the vision of COINCO North, reducing the travel time to 2 hours 20 minutes by introducing high-speed trains, comes through, the region will be narrowed down, and synergies and added value will be created as a result of the increased mobility. It is, however, important to see the research into high speed trains in connection with the improvement of the Inter City train network in the region, to serve the future need for better mobility, before one can realise the 8 million-city.
